If your reading this you are probably well aware of these cars and their pedigree and reputation as the fastest accelerating Australian production car of their time, and in fact a record they held for 27 years after they were released, even out pacing the mighty GT HO when new!

This stunning example you see before you is a gorgeous tribute to the mighty E49. As you can see the attention to detail and finish is really nice, and this car looks very believable and authentic as it was built by an old School mechanic as his personal car.

Starting with a very good genuine NZ new 770 the builder of this particular car had a genuine E49 in very poor condition to copy details and specifics off, and when the values were significantly lower back in the day the decision was made to start with a better car and build the best replica out of the two and then sell the left over body and parts which we believe is essentially what happened.

The body on this car is remarkably good for a Charger and appears to be very solid and super straight with really nice panel fitment, and although an older restoration it certainly doesnt present that way, it presents as a very well kept authentic car.
The paintwork is really nice and this example is painted in one of the most desirable Hero Colours of the time, the stunning Hemi Orange.

The engine is a very responsive and strong pulling 265 Hemi fitted with the correct style Carburettors and tuned headers along with genuine air cleaners, and the performance is still very strong even today.
The gearbox is a correct style 4 speed as seen for the first time in the legendary E49, and this lively package runs into the LSD diff with factory finned brake drums, and power boosted discs up front.

The interior is very clean with a genuine R/T dash and gauges and the correct shifter boot and gear knob along with the iconic 3 spoke steering wheel and new R/T door trims.
Sitting down nicely on E49 adjustable rear spring hangers and running a set of machine finished W35 style cast alloys this Charger looks all business!

A gorgeous example of this iconic Muscle Car and a lovely car to drive with decent manners and plenty of power. You couldnt build this car today for anywhere near this money, and good luck finding some genuine R/T parts..

Half the price of a genuine E49, but certainly not half the car...
