We have had some outstanding Cobras over the decades, but this example is right up there.
After extensive research was initially carried out by its builder the decision was made to purchase an Australian designed high quality Harrison kit, with a beautifully designed custom boxed chassis, and to power it with one of Shelbys traditional favourites, the legendary rev happy Ford Windsor small block.
The impressive list of technical data reports and information in the accompanying receipts file confirms that the heavily detailed Windsor is a 302 derived engine punched out to 331 cubes and is reputed to have over $30k invested in its relatively recent build, with some trick parts and plenty of performance, coupled up to a World Class T-5 manual gearbox and on into a modified R32 independent rear end, all suspended in a trick rear subframe after extensive research was conducted to get everything to perform the way it should and to meet the stringent Low Volume criteria which took an already impressive package to yet another level. The front end is a fully independent custom unit with rack and pinion steering and a quality braking system, all of which has proved itself to be a strong reliable package capable of putting down and impressive performance and one certainly not to be taken lightly or underestimated.
A lot of thought has gone into the cosmetic appearance of this remarkable Cobra as well with quality Smiths gauges adorning the dashboard, and full deep black plush leather throughout the traditional sixties inspired cockpit, and with that fantastic reverses style trigger release shifter and Moto Lita steering wheel all setting the mood and letting you know money was certainly no object in this build.
A correct looking deep dish highly polished set of actual Knock off Hallibrand styled wheels and proper tie wired caps give that period race inspired no nonsense appeal, and those big snaking side pipes really are a joy to behold!
Finished in a magnificent deep Sapphire Guardsman blue metallic with tradition off white Le Mans stripes this Cobra cuts an imposing presence on the road, and looks ready to strike at any time even standing still!
