This stunning GXL is one of the few very lucky survivors......

Not many 3.0 Capri's survived the eighties and nineties and the onset of the perceived better equipped Japanese Import, many got lost to race tracks, V8 conversions, and accidents, making a good one very hard to find today...

This little gem is a factory 3.0 V6 car, and has the optional cloth insert interior, and the very desirable factory wind back sunroof, it also still retains the opening rear 1/4 windows and the other unique GXL features, including the vinyl roof,

The body is in exceptionally nice order for a V6 Capri, and shows no signs of a major shunt or previous repairs around the body, the body appears solid and tight, with lovely clean paintwork bringing the presentation up to a high standard in general,

The unique interior is in nice order and complete, right down to an original push button radio, and the correct clock and console, the cloth inserts are in remarkable condition for their age, and although some cosmetic restoration has taken place the interior looks clean and period correct.

The chrome and fittings are all in nice order, with the original style Halogen headlamps still fitted in the unique Quad headlamps style of the high grade GXL,

The strong 3.0 engine performs very well, and has that unmistakable tune of a strong and willing V6, this example has also been fitted with a 5 manual speed gearbox as was the fashion of the day, for better drivability and cruising, which could easily be reversed back to the standard 4 speed, but as is performs very well with this modification, and delivers a smooth shift and decent ratios.

Sure to be a strong future investment, and just a really nice fun car to drive with real period character and charm, finding an early " genuine" 3.0 Capri today is hard enough, but when they are like this one, it's almost impossible....
