How cool is this gorgeous 32 Deuce Pick Up!
This genuine Henry Ford steel Cab Pick Up has been the passion project of a very clever local mid Canterbury engineer over the last few years, and was built to be driven and used, One drive will confirm this clearly isnt his first Rodeo, because he absolutely nailed it!
Having built other Hot Rods over the years while gaining valuable experience of what works and what doesnt, this neat Pick Up is testament to his skill as its exceptionally drivable with excellent road manners and a style that is unmistakably traditional from the front bumper right through to the tow bar!
A very clean genuine Henry Ford cab was initially sourced for the build, and has been sympathetically upgraded and strengthened so it doesnt flex around, and the doors open and shut nicely, with proper bear claw latches, while retaining the original opening cowl vent.
Fully fendered with a very decent functional steel fabricated tray, and Solids with wide whites caps and band, the proportions of this Iconic Old Ford are spot on.
The traditional body is sitting on a Kiwi Konnections reproduction frame with a So Cal forged dropped front I beam complete with V8 Stubs and Falcon rotors with power disc brakes supplied by commodore finned alloy callipers.
All supported by hairpin radius rods and chromed tube shocks.
The rear end is a trusty Ford 8 Inch unit with Aldan coil over shocks all held in place with a nicely engineered triangulated four bar set up.
Powering this super cool unit is a healthy 350 small block running early large valve double bump heads, a Comp Cams 262 Extreme energizer cam, with a Street Avenger carb sitting a top an Edelbrock Performer manifold.
With more than enough power to shift this lightweight along a Turbo 350 Automatic trans was chosen for ease of drivability, and the package has really nice manners for a Hot Rod and a great on the road feel.
The interior is absolutely magnificent, but not overdone, still looking a bit commercial and functional, but comfortable with a neat Glide front seat, and a well thought out fully trimmed cabin complete with a Vintage Air heater demister, and reproduction engine turned 32 dash with traditional gauges, along with a Locar shifter.
The paintwork was originally intended to be matt in finish for a more commercial look and ease of use and practicality as a parts fetcher, but as you can see it became a lot more than just that. so the brief changed to include a light satin finish clear coat over the Red base, so it looks really cool while not being to precious to actually use.
This neat little truck really is the whole package, absolutely spot on traditional looks with modern components all coming together with full recent LVVT certification, to make a real fun driving usable Hot Rod that will put a big smile on your face the moment you get behind the wheel! you couldnt even gather the parts up required to build this truck to this standard again today for the money.. so dont miss this opportunity
