What a little cracker!
How cool is this little weapon! Even Harry Potter would have been green with envy seeing this little Van!
Every young guys dream back in the day, an Anglia Sin Bin Panel Van with that went better than your mates GT Cortina!
This amazing little Van has quite an interesting history, originally purchased brand new in Christchurch on 02/04/1965 with its first owner being the Municipal Electricity Department or the MED if you prefer, before transferring to the Riccarton Borough Council in 1979.
Two years later this little Van ended up in very long private ownership transporting prized poultry around the region!
In 2005 this now very rare Van was purchased by the owners of the well known Enford Classic Ford spares company, and was rebuilt by them over a two year period to become the parts fetcher and general message and errand runner.
Being in good company at Enford, with true blue blooded Ford enthusiasts it was inevitable that this van would get the best of everything available as it would have been back in the day, including some now incredibly rare period parts, so this really is now the Anglia Van Ford Should have built in 1965!
After the original body had been massaged and refinished in the Original Sea Foam colour, the mechanicals all came under attention, the engine chosen was the iconic 1500cc Pre Crossflow Cortina unit, complete with the Webber 28/36 carb, Coby extractors and a Kent BCF2 camshaft with this all matched up nicely to an very rare 315 Consul factory floor change full synchro gearbox housing fitted with a Capri 1600 GT close ratio gearset, running out to a 3.9:1 diff, with Consul 315 Disc brake front struts with gas inserts and heavier 40mm lowered coils up front, and a twin sway bar, while 315 nine Inch drums out back with a Mark 2 Cortina tandem brake master cylinder do the job nicely.
To give the period perfect look of clean and understated but super cool, is a set of genuine 5.5 Lotus Cortina Rims fitted with decent tires and plain Anglia caps, which simply cant be beaten for the dead right stance on any self-respecting Anglia.
The interior is very coo too, having been fully trimmed out very nicely with a full length hood liner, custom roll bar anchor system for seat belts, and fitted with Cortina 1600 E bucket seats, while an absolutely gorgeous dashboard layout with period Smiths instruments out of a Mk 2 Cortina GT absolutely put the icing on the cake.
This little Van puts an instant smile on the face of all who see it, and when you really study the detail, its a pretty special wee van, all done pretty just how Ford would have done it if they chucked the Hot Up parts catalogue at an Anglia back in the Sixties!
Fully LVVTA certified and ready to promote your quirky business or look right at home in the pits of a classic race meeting carrying your tools, either way, how cool..
You couldnt build anything even close to this today for this sort of money..
