The ultimate first generation Mustang Fastback, the very same model that the legend himself Mr Carroll Shelby selected to further upgrade to become the now iconic Shelby GT350, the ultra-rare Hi Performance K Code Fastback!

The K Code is a very rare car, very few of these cars ever come to market, and as the K-Codes were Hi Po 4 speed Manual only in 65 they generally got a very hard life, and usually plenty of modifications along the journey with very few examples escaping to tell the story some 60 years on...

This neat Poppy Red survivor has managed to survive the decades and represents a tidy driver quality example today.

This K Code has never been restored so has a few blemishes and bruises from being enjoyed and driven, so if youre looking for an outstanding fully restored fully correct numbers matching example, then this probably isnt it the car for you, but if you can appreciate a 60 year old survivor and want a tidy presentable driver that performs well with a bit of an attitude, and one you can actually drive and enjoy without being too precious, then this one is well worth further inspection.

The body appears reasonably straight and solid for its age with tidy presentable paintwork, and it would appear that it has clearly had an older cosmetic makeover in the USA some time ago, prior to arriving here in NZ in 2010.

The running gear consists of a cammed up small block with a few old school period Shelby dress up bits, and a decent twin exhaust system, so its sounds the part and performs well coupled to the 4 speed, running through to the 9 inch diff, while the disc brakes up front help pull proceedings to a halt.

The interior is tidy and presentable in the black crinkle finish, and the super cool correct style bent shifter takes pride of place along with a neat period Mota Lita wood rim steering wheel.

GT stripes fog lamps and badges along with styled steel wheels further complement the Poppy Red exterior and give this neat fastback a real head turning appearance.

Note: The example decodes as a K Code car on what appears to be its original door tag, and has the correct K Code numbers matching the tag stamped into the LH inner guard. The GT package extras appear to have been added either at a dealer level, or at a later date, and as there is nothing available to support the car being a factory GT equipment optioned example, and it is not being represented as such.

A rare opportunity to own a rare early Mustang Fastback that really looks the part.

Call today for further information on this rare Pony, and to book an inspection.
