The Mighty XR Falcon!

The first of the iconic Coke bottle shape Falcons that would go on to spawn the mighty GT HOs, and a radical step forward in design and styling that started the whole GT movement, and now a model that has become very sought after and hard to find.

This cool old XR has clearly had a small fortune spent on it in the past, it was also clearly a good old car as its older Wild Violet paintwork is showing no signs of breaking out anywhere, and still presents very well today.

The body is straight and honest, with good clean door shuts and inner areas and has been treated to a lot of refurbished parts and new exterior brightwork to bring it up to speed.

The nicely presented engine bay is home to a heavily detailed 351 Cleveland that according to some old documents has had quite a lot of decent components fitted in a previous rebuild, it runs a nice lumpy cam and gives very decent performance coupled up to the 4 speed manual transmission and on into a 9 inch 4 wheel disc brake rear end.

A power steer rack and pinion unit has also been fitted along with a power boosted braking system, so over all this XR is very easy to live with, and performs well with plenty of power and a very drivable user friendly attitude over all.

The interior has been treated to a set of factory XY style bucket seats in the front, with the rear centre armrest style Fairmont seat in the back, a GT console and unique custom door trims with decent carpets and trim rounding it all off to make the cabin a neat and tidy comfortable place to sit back and enjoy your cruising while listening to that classic big thumping V8 rumble.

As a personal preference the builder went for some XY GT styling cues on this cool old XR, like the iconic GT Shaker scoop, front and rear HO style spoilers, and the big eight inch Globes with lowered suspension which gives an aggressive stance that is unmistakable late sixties Falcon Muscle!

Fully LVVTA certified for piece of mind, and she has just completed a decent cross country road trip with no issues, so is ready to go on to a new home!

Inspection will impress a genuine buyer, it would cost far more than the asking price to replicate this car again to today, its got a lot of good bits in what clearly appears to have been a good honest old car, so represents decent value for an early V8 Falcon
