The Legendary 1969 Camaro! The last and some say the best of the First Generation, and its certainly all happening under this impressive looking example!
This particular 69 Camaro is a well-known local car previously sold by us many years ago to its current custodian who has driven and enjoyed it enough over the years to have it travel the country with him, and most recently while residing in Auckland, this Camaro was given a comprehensive to say the least mechanical upgrade at great expense, in a the Pro Tourer theme to make the car a serious performer that would become far more driveable and enjoyable to live with on a regular basis.
Starting up front a brand new Blue Print 383ci small block was sourced, with a very respectable quoted 450 hp and 450 nm tq, running a complete Edelbrock Multi Point EFI system with upgraded lines and tank, Long Tube headers, a full 2.5 inch custom exhaust, with a lot of nice general detail throughout the engine bay.
The impressive and staunch small block is coupled up to a brand new TKO 500 5 Speed, with a custom drive shaft, while out back is a fully reconditioned 12 Bolt 3.73 LSD differential to get the power down.
All four corners have been upgraded with a full Baer Braking system, including full 4 Wheels disc brakes with drilled rotors, 6 pot on the front 4 pot on the rear, and a new up graded power booster.
The suspension consists of Global West tubular front upper control arms, Hotchkiss shocks with lowered springs, upgraded sway bar, quick ratio steering box, and the impressive package is all tied down nicely with full subframe connectors.
The interior has been treated to TMI bolstered front seats match to the original rear, which hold you in place comfortably, and a full integrated Air Con system has also been fitted, along with a rewire to accommodate the new digital instruments.
Overall the body is honest and tidy on this neat looking Camaro, and it presents quite well, however it was built to be driven so perfect paintwork really wasnt on the brief , and as the paint hasnt been touched in decades, this is one area where you could improve the car if thats your thing, put it this way the hard work and eye wateringly expensive part has already been done, so it would be the right car to do. Hunkered down nicely on a new set of 18 inch genuine Budnik highly polished alloys 18x10 rears and 18x8.5 up front, this Camaro looks menacing on the road, but also has the power to back it up!
