Hey Charger!

The underdog Chrysler Valiant Charger was without doubt one of the best looking coupes to ever come out of Australia in the Seventies, and this example has captured all of that with its stunning Hemi Orange paintwork and bold black stripes as a nod to the iconic E49 Six Pack Race bred road cars of the era.

Previously sold by us a couple of times over the years, this particular Charger has been with its last custodian (a serious Mopar enthusiast) for a few years now, and in that time has become a very well-known car at all of our local events and monthly cars and coffee shows, along with being present in the demonstration laps of Levels raceway for the 50th Anniversary of the Charger celebrations held there last year.

Having proved itself to be a reliable old cruiser, this example has also recently had a pretty decent cosmetic tidy up with engine bay receiving quite a bit of attention along with some upholstery work being completed to bring the interior up to speed, so is now looking the best it has in years!

The older but nicely presented paintwork has been refinished in a stunning bright Hemi Orange which is one of the true hero colours of the day, complemented by the Black Bonnet and Black stripes in the R/T E-49 themed decal package, along with highly polished old school period alloys to give a real Seventies Muscle Car flavour and appearance to this cool old Charger.

The nicely detailed engine is a strong old 265 Hemi which has clearly had previous work and is coupled up to the 4 speed Chrysler manual gearbox giving great performance out on the open road, with decent manners driving around town, and that unmistakable Big Six tune coming from the twin pipes is like music to the ears!

A clean old Charger that really looks the part, and turns a lot of heads, not a perfect concourse example by any stretch, but a tidy well-presented surviving example of a now rare 70s Muscle Car priced well below replacement today, especially compared to the Holden or Ford Coupes from this time period!
