Hows this for an absolute 70s time capsule!
This would have to be one of the cleanest old XAs left in existence, showing just a 104k miles, the overall condition displays like of a car that is only a couple of years old!
We have driven an awful lot of XA Falcons over the years, but this would have to rate as one of the best, it drives beautifully and has absolutely no nasty habits.
Sold new on the 20th of December 1973 by Gluyas Ford in Ashburton to its first owner The Ashburton Fish Supply just in time for Xmas! this old girl appears to have had three private owners since, with a couple of dealers in there as well, and allowing for the usual misreads over the last 50 years at W.O.F time, appears to be showing a genuine 104k miles from new, which would be consistent with the general lack of wear throughout the vehicle and its over all lovely survivor condition.
The body is very dry and exceptionally straight and still remarkably displays a lot of original paintwork which is still in amazing condition having only recently had some professional touch up work carried out due to removal of the old style body moulding strip.
The door shuts engine bay and boot areas are completely original paint with no evidence of any previous XA issues having been delt with in regards to rust, and you can easily see this is a very clean original body that hasnt been butchered.
The running gear powering this old darling is another story again and is simply magic, this old girl is running the absolutely a bullet proof 250 2V 4.1 and 4 Speed Top Loader! Back in the day these engines where quoted as being more capable than the 302 V8 engine! And to be fair, this one would still be the measure of a lot of stock V8s from this era, as it pulls like a freight train and has magnificent long legs on the open road, making it an absolute pleasure to drive on a decent trip or even just around town, all round this XA is simply a very impressive package.
The interior is in exceptional condition with correct XA buckets and a centre console, and amazingly she still retains the original loop pile carpet from over 50 years ago! and the original oatmeal trim, all just further confirming the care and attention this old doll has had lavished on her over the decades.
Recently fitted with a set of correct re cast Flat Lip Bathurst Globe 15 Inch Daytona alloys and BFGs she not only looks fantastic but drives like it too.
The previous owners clearly respected this special car what they had and treated it accordingly, you would be hard pressed to find a better unrestored XA anywhere for sale, if there is a better one with these details we would love to see it!
Originally purchase by our vendor as the best body available to be turned into a Phase 4 Replica, it was quickly decided it was just too good of a car to do it too, so shes luckily been saved by the bell!
Inspection will impress a genuine buyer, this is an absolute honey of a car.
