How cool is this genuine survivor One of One GT Falcon!
The XA model is recognised as the first of the fully Australian designed examples of the now legendary GT 351, and arguably one of their finest with a more refined specification and overall swooping yet aggressive lines.
This stunning example finished in the beautiful and desirable Cosmic Blue metallic is a special and significant car in its own right, aside from being a true one of one order in its particular specification, and being very well optioned, it also holds the dignified position of being the very last XA GT Automatic Sedan ever produced according the recently released GT Bible from the highly respected GT historian Ross Vasse!
This GT has been known to us for over 20 years, and was a dry old CH CH car for a long time prior to a short stint in the north island before making its way down to Invercargill, where all the good GTs go!
A very honest old survivor she was starting to show her advanced age with well-worn crazy cracked paint and generally looking a bit tired after fifty years of faithful service so after much consideration the recent decision was made to give this GT a full exterior repaint, but to also carefully retain the original paint in the door shuts boot areas and full engine bay, so you can actually see what an honest old car she was to begin with.
The interior is in very nice order with a mix of the original white trim, OE door trims and an amazing original dash with a new set of correct cloth inserts (W2) and what presents as a small amount of cosmetics to bring it up to speed again without losing the authenticity its taken 50 years to perfect.
The running gear is correct and original for this example, with the matching numbers 351 still residing in the engine bay, coupled up to the T Bar Cruise- O -Matic, and out to the 9 inch diff.
This old darling drives really well for a decent honest unrestored GT, and basically feels like a big powerful old LTD Limo or the likes with a great user friendly feel, and lovely road manners when you stretch its legs, reminding you why these cars were so revered in the first place, and why they are so sought after today.
