How cool is this big blue oval bruiser!

This was absolutely the Top of the Line in Australian produced luxury cars back in the 70s, if you had one of these back in the day you had to have some serious money, and driving one of these confirmed it!

These now rare big luxury Hardtops were based on the top of the range flagship P5 LTD Limousine and basically comprised all of the luxuries of the model, combined with the XB GT running gear, the big 351 Cubic inch engine, FMX Automatic transmission and the disc brake nine inch rear end.

These big luxury barges were absolutely loaded with factory options, and where a very special car in the day, with around only 1400 units built in total they were pretty rare too, and it would be fair to assume not many good examples have survived today.

This particular example appears to have been sold here in NZ new in July of 74 from Fagan Motors in Masterton, and has been in long term ownership locally here in Canterbury for many years, having been the subject of an older light restoration of what was an honest old low owner car, and it still presents very well over all today with obvious maintenance and general care having been the norm.

The body appears clean and dry with straight panel work and tidy paint, and the unique full individual bucket seat interior has been refurbished very nicely in the original style.

The 351 has had some previous work and runs strong with a nice lumpy cam and a new four barrel Holley while a decent exhaust note plays a nice tune through the headers and twin system.

Most of the unique hard to find trim and fittings are still present, and most of the items that are not currently fitted are retained to go with the car, roof trim etc, along with a few spares.

Its pretty clear that a reasonable amount of money has been spent of this Landau in the past, and it seems pretty well sorted, driving and performing accordingly.

A pretty cool old cruiser with her fancy hide away headlamps power tinted glass and luxury appointments, and a reasonably affordable Hard Top compared to the Falcon or Fairmont equivalent..

A neat old survivor that drives like a big old lounge suite!
