Its not often you find an almost fifty year old classic Corvette in this condition.The amazing one owner time capsule Corvette is about as close as you would ever get to looking at a new Corvette in 1978 due to the absolutely authentic genuine original and totally unmolested condition of this remarkable car.
One of the most honest original examples we have ever had the pleasure of listing (and there have been quite a few over thew years) this Lovley old Vette was purchased in Washington USA and was used as daily transport for its then NZ Embassy Ambassador for many years before returning to NZ in the nineties with the trusty Corvette accompanying him back home.
Clearly a vehicle that has been cherished and maintained religiously throughout the years and one that has wanted for absolutely nothing, with an extensive and quite interesting history and large receipts file compiled over many years, this Corvette drives absolutely superb, testament to a truly devoted owner.
The very genuine body on this Corvette is showing no signs of major repairs, and almost all of the paintwork appears to be original, so as would be expected this example has a few little marks and bruises and typical Corvette blemishes all of which really just adds to the general appeal, as you can see just how authentic and genuine this lovely old Corvette actually is.
Finished in gorgeous Corvette Mohogany metallic this magnificent C3 still manages to sparkle beautifully in the sun with a completely authentic finish, complemented by an outstanding original cream plush leather deluxe interior, which again would be one of the best we have seen in an unrestored vehicle, with none of the usual Corvette broken trim and snapped plastic that seems to be the norm now days, even the original Eight Tack Stereo and clock still both work!
The original numbers matching engine is present and correct, with all original plumbing and ducting, and again is very original in its presentation, hooked up to a smooth shifting automatic trans, with the traditional four wheel independent suspension and four wheel power disc brakes giving a sporty performance and feel that has made these cars so popular over the years.
The Corvette drives just like they should, anyone who tells you these cars dont drive great has never driven a good one, and this one is just that.
Sadly and reluctantly due to the passage of time marching on, this lovely Corvette has now become a little more difficult to manage for its now quite mature owner, so the time has come to part with this faithful member of the family, so if you have been searching for a really tight honest old Corvette from the legendary C3 styling era, this would be a hard car to match.
