Now this is a real blast from the past here!
A genuine survivor Series One RX7 that hasnt been butchered beyond redemption, raced rallied and rolled, or simply lost to time like most.
This now very rare RX7 looks like its just rolled off the ship from Japan as one of the first Imports here in the late Eighties! These little cars caused a real sensation when the first import ones arrived here on our shores, and Kiwis simply couldnt get enough of them, this one arrived as an early import in 1989 and they really were the car to have!
This Cool RX7 is a high spec Limited model, so got the cloth trim and a few more luxurious fittings, and came with the period aftermarket alloys which are them selves a rare item today.
The body on this old RX7 is remarkably clean for the age, you tend to forget they are almost 50 years old now! and the paintwork still presents well having had a decent buff up and some correction carried out recently.
The body isnt showing any obvious signs of any previous major trauma displaying generally tidy clean original panels, decent gaps and original wheel arches that are still unmodified.
The 12a engine has recently been fully rebuilt locally along with the gearbox being stripped and inspected, and the emissions equipment has all been removed, with the engine being bridge ported for better performance and that unmistakable Brap Brap Brap Rotary soundtrack, while at the same time fitted a large Webber carb and free flow exhaust, so this little guy gets along pretty well!
All of the equipment that was recently removed has been retained, and comes with the vehicle included in the sale.
The interior sports its original seats with old school replacement cloth seat inserts done back in the day, while the original push button radio and early tape cassette player are all still fitted too. The interior is in remarkably good order for its age, and instantly takes you back to the eighties with its original plush pile carpet throughout and neat brown appointments.
A real trip down memory lane, this RX7 looks just like the yards full of them did in the late eighties, its a real wee survivor from that time, complete with the import aftermarket mags and very rare window louver, and its finished in the bright yellow which was one of the most sought after colours back in the day.

A very collectable car today, with a strong investment potential and still very usable and a lot of fun, sure it may not be a perfect 100 point show car, and it has a few age related bumps and bruises, but try finding a better survivor original JDM spec example in RHD for this money today
