This remarkably clean old XF Fairmont has clearly lived a very cherished existence having travelled a pitifully low 135k kms in the last 41 years!
Full Grandad spec from day one! the salesman would have no doubt got a good commission for the added extras on this one! factory fitted Ford 850 Clarion cassette stereo, Mudflaps, Side stripe, Roof Racks, Sun Visor, headlight covers and a bonnet protector! Wow! and even a tow bar for the Caravan!!
Sold and delivered new out of the big Christchurch Ford dealers Hutchinson Motors and being delivered in June of 1985 this old darling has really stood the test of time.
A very honest clean old body still presents with most of what appears to be original day one paint, and is showing no real evidence of any repairs as such, just a few little age related marks and bruises, and some paint fade on the top surfaces as would be expected, but you just wouldnt touch it, as they are only this original once
The interior is very cool and takes you back to a much simpler time..a comfortable full six seater column auto with power steering electric windows and wall to wall shag pile carpeting was all big news in 85!
This old Fairmont has never been molested in any way, it still sits up proud like a four wheel drive with a lift kit, and rides like a cloud with perfect road manners and almost no noise at all!
A remarkable old car in very honest order, still on the first issue black licence plates, and one of very few left in existence that hasnt had the Makita grinder to the springs, and a set of black 12 slots and Eagars fitted!
